Well....it's been way too long since I have posted anything on my blog. I have gotten caught up in the whole facebook band wagon and seem to like it there.My marketing on facebook to seniors has really boosted my popularity with the teen crowd, and hope that it continues.

I have been really busy up until now and am waiting for the on slot of seniors waiting for the leaves to change color. A very popular time of year and them knowing that yearbook images are due in November. Ha Ha!

I cut my hours at my job at the start of summer to allow myself to concentrate on my photography, and you know what? I still don't seem to have enough time in the day to do that and everything else I have going on.

Here are a few of my favorites from a resent session with Miss Brittany from Pymatuning Valley High School Class of 2011.

Another few months between posts, there is no excuse.

Well, spring is just around the corner, and wedding season is about to start. I am hoping the economy picks up soon, especially for the couples about to start their new lives together.

I got a call yesterday from a Mother who has a Daughter that graduates in June, and she hasn't had her senior portraits done yet. Talk about procrastinating!

The virus that is going around kicked my butt this past few weeks. I started getting a sore throat on February 13th and as of March 8th I just got rid of it. I ended up with Laringitis and strep throat. I had no voice at all for over a week! I'm sure some people would consider that a blessing.

We have a new Grandaughter, born on December 19, 2008. Her name is Christine Adele Baybayan.

Wow! I can't believe that I haven't posted since October!

Things have changed drastically in my life since them. I got a full time job as a Graphic Artist, and that limits my time during the day, that I normally had.

I am busy with my photography. Seems when you do a session with one Family, the word starts to spred fast. This is a good thing, because word of mouth means the first person thinks highly of you to tell everyone.
I also did a few Weddings this year, and hope that those generate to some more for the new year.

I have two new Grand Daughters born within 10 days of each other. One on December 9th in TX, and one born on December 19th in Haymarket, VA. We will be visiting the one in VA on December 26th, so I will be getting newborn photos to add to my portfolio. Look for posts on my blog.

So, Merry Christmas to all you blogsters out there! See you in 2009!

I shot a wedding on Saturday, as an assistant. The Bride's Father owned this 1957 Chevy truck. They used the truck to get to and from the church and to the reception. Here is my play on the images.

This was a beautiful day for an engagement shoot. The leaves are at their peak reight now and with the rain coming this week, we can say good-by to the colors. They will soon be on the ground. This couple, Michelle and Brent are going to be married a year from now, so they wanted their engagement pictures taken in the fall also. Michelle is my Cousin and her beau was a pleasure to work with. He will be a great addition to the Family.

I had the priviledge to be a second shooter at a wedding with Shannon Smith in Akron, OH. 9/20/2008. What a beautiful couple and what a blast the bridal party was to work with. We had them going down slides, standing on playground equipment, and jumping in the air. What good sports they all were.

Summer's almost over.

It's the middle of September, and already cool. I don't think we had much of a summer here in NW Ohio. We had a lot of rain, which was good for the gress and plants, but loosy for a summer. All of August was cooler than normal. So, next week starts fall and around here I am looking forward to a very colorful season. Last year was wet, so the leaves were very muted in color and fell from the trees way too soon. Hopefully they will be glorious!

Here are a few from a walk around the property the other day. You can already see a smidgion of color popping out in the trees.

This is the EnviroMax. My Husband Howard invented it. It is an all-terrain log forwarder, that goes into the woods in any condition and brings cut logs out to the landing, so that they can be carried to the sawmills. This is a "Green" machine, because it has a 4 pound per square inch footprint in the soil, where a conventional log skidder has about 10 times that. This machine will not damage tender tree roots when it travels over them, and reclamation of the land is very minimal when the job is through.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed we sell this one, and many more to follow.

Wedddings, Weddings, and more Weddings!

I have been shooting a few weddings lately. First I second shot for a Photographer, Shannon Smith, with 831 Photography, in Cleveland, then I was in Columbus to shoot a reception, solo, where the Bride and Groom got married 3 weeks previous. This weekend I will be in Pittsburgh second shooting with Greg barringer of Pro Images, and on the 26th I will be second shooting with my Sister-in-Law Tessa, in Warren, PA. Maybe with all of this practice, I may actually get good at this...hummmm?

I was in Columbus visiting my Son and his new girlfriend Brandy, which I was meeting for the first time. Brandy has two dogs, Bella and Griffin. I haven't seen my Son since Christmas, so I was happy to see him. We did a mini photo shoot before we took off on Sunday. The dogs cooperated for the most part.

Well, I'm headed to Orlando, FL tomorrow morning to "witness" my youngest Son, Kyle graduate from Full Sail. I guess if I didn't see it with my own eyes, I might not believe it. As of now, until I reach Florida and see him in person, I still haven't gotten the "official" word, that he is graduating. I will be taking pictures, which I will post when I get home. That way we all will have proof!

Golden Living

I had the privilege to photograph a Mothers Day brunch at Golden Living a nursing home, that a friend of mine, Linda Blasic is the Activity Director. She asked if I would volunteer my time to set up at backdrop, so the residents could have their picture taken with Family members. She wasn't sure what to expect, since she sent out invites and only received 5 responses. We had an over whelming amount of Families show up. We had to set up a couple extra tables.

Linda did a wonderful job planning the event. She had a 14 year old piano player for the entertainment. He wowed everyone with his talent. He is a volunteer and does the nursing home circuit. Door prizes were handed out, and a lunch of quiche and fruit salad was served.

The residents were very willing and happy to get a picture done of themselves with their loved one. They will receive a complimentary 5 x 7 provided by Golden Living. The Family will have the option to purchase copies. I think all went well and a good time was had by all.

The Residents were so cute. Most of them didn't know where they were supposed to be looking, but the pictures will be cherished by their Families.

This Gentleman was so cute. He kept saying
"CHEESE" over and over.

This little ladies name is Dora. Linda calls her
"Dora the Explorer." She didn't have a Family
member there, but we let her attend anyway.
She showed up in her wheel chair, and said,
"What am I doing down here?" "They got me
up and dressed for some reason."

I'm Thankful

I have been having some health problems for the past 2 1/2 months. Nothing serious...now. I had been having pain in my left armpit, because of swollen lymp nodes. They had ruled out breast cancer, after a sonogram and a mamogram, since breast cancer affects your lymph nodes. My Dr. told me he thought it is probably caused by a viral infection in my lymph nodes, that is treated with nothing, just waiting it out. Well after a month, I was still in the same boat as the previous month. Pain down my arm and swollen lymph nodes. My Dr. decided he needed to do a biopsy in my armpit to rule out Lymphoma.
On Tuesday April 22nd, I had surgery where he removed one lymph node leaving me with a 3 1/2 inch incision, and pain. After fearing the worst possible scenarios for 2 1/2 months, (you always think the worst), I went to the Dr. for my post op visit and got a clean bill of health. Halleluah!

Well, after doing a senior shoot in November of 2007, I finally got an order from the customer, and they picked it up today. They were estatic!
The Mother of the senior girl said that she had been talking to one of the Mothers at a track meet, and had expressed how excited they were about getting their pictures soon. She said to her that she had ordered so many, that she can't remember what she ordered. The "other" Mother said, "I hope you spent more that $800!" The seniors Mother said, "No, why?" The "other" Mother said, "I only got a few pictures, and I spent, $800!" She then said, "Do you have her card?"
My senior's Mother took a few of my cards, and said she was going to give one to her at the track meet today.

MPIX Meet-up Mentor, OH April 17-20

I had the privlidge to attend a weekend workshop with fellow MPIX forum members We had a blast! We had classes provided by Shannon and Stephanie Smith aka the Nerd Husband and Wife, lovingly refered to as the "Nerds". They are so professional and very informative, feeling very comfortable in front of a class and a camera, which was running the whole time, even when we were doing on locating shoots. Providing his video expertise was Chris Baldwin.

We had some beautiful models to work with that dressed in wedding dresses so we could practice lighting for bridal shoots, a newlywed couple were there dressed as bride and groom and we also had a couple of young teens that were very good sports allowing us to have "fun" with their poses.

I had the opportunity to work with an off-camera flash, that I was very pleased with the results. Since attending these workshops, my second, I have seen a definate inprovement in the quality of my work.

After four days, it was sad leaving friends we only knew through posts on a mutual forum, to being close friends. I am looking forward to the next one.
